The artist studied at several prestigious institutions including the Rijksakademie in Amsterdam and the Royal Academy of Arts in London. Kingma’s roots in mosaic arts remain visible in his furniture designs, and especially in his renowned coffee tables. Utilizing his vast collection of petrified wood, fossils, and stones, Kingma inlaid various materials into his furniture pieces to create earthy yet distinctly non-organic designs. The abundance of multimedia elements Kingma incorporated into his work attests to his flawless execution of formulated and precisely assembled visions. Kingma has been commissioned for major public works in Dutch cities such as Utrecht and Eindhoven.
